Instead of buying Chinese New Year (CNY) decorations, why not involve your kids to DIY at home? It can be done using Pointillism, which is fun and easy for children to do.
What is “Pointillism”?
It is a painting technique developed by the artist George Seurat which involves using small, painted dots to create areas of color that together form a pattern or picture. It requires just a few simple materials.
STEP 1:
Use white paper to outline the image
STEP 2:
Dot dot dot with markers (another variation is to “dot” with cotton bud or satay stick)
Tip: To make it easier for younger children, parents can help to draw circles for the children to shade.
STEP 3:
Paint the border (if any)
And it is completed!
